Once upon a Saturday (approximately 2 weeks ago from today) there was a couple named Shandi and James. They lived in a townhouse. As the Saturday evening drew near, James decided it would be a great idea to wash Shandi's car. Fabulous idea. The couple got out the necessary supplies, and attached their hose to the outside water spicket connected to their house. They lathered up the car and began to turn on the water... James: "Shandi, do you have the faucet turned up all the way?"
Shandi: "Um.. yeah, why?"
James: "I don't know, there just doesn't seem to be as much water pressure as last year."
Shandi: "Hmm... I have no idea."
(they both blow it off)
About 5 minutes pass, and James opens the front door to the house to get something. Shandi continues to hose off the car...
James: "OUR HOUSE IS FLOODING!" (running outside to turn off the spicket and flailing his arms like a crazy man)
Shandi glances over to the front door wondering what the heck James is talking about...
She then see's water EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!
To sum up this story, our front room is a disaster area. The carpet and pad have been torn up, the pipe replaced (a small chunk of our wall missing in order to do this), and we are anxiously (well more so Shandi) awating the Home Owner's Assosciation's Insurance to send us a check. Yes, luckily for us we are not liable for fixing the damage. Not exactly the way I had invisioned getting new carpet and paint, but hey, I am not going to complain :) (I absolutely LOATHED our carpet.) I will have to post pictures after our little disaster has been restored. On another note, after talking with our own insurance provider, we found out that our actual coverage inside the house is not adequate and we have now upped our coverage in case heaven forbid something else were to happen. I am going to assume that this was a blessing in disguise...
