So.... sad story. Tuesday at work Dr. Murdock (the Dr. I work for) was mentioning how she didn't feel that great. She assumed perhaps she was coming down with a cold. Wednesday morning comes and she asks me if we have any Ibuprofen... this is not like her... at all. The day went on and she looked TERRIBLE. Symptoms: body aches, little elevated temp but Ibuprofen was helping, cough, etc. Around lunch time, she walks over to my desk and asks in a sad voice: "Shandi... will you test me for Swine Flu?" Sad! So the two of us walk on over to the counter and I open a Flu Kit. We swab her nose, and I wait for the 10 minutes it takes while she is over in her office. After the ten minutes I glance at the test strip... pink line, blue line.
Bingo.
I walk over to her office, give her a sad look, and break the news. "Congratulations, you have Swine Flu :( " Poor thing! Anyway, we ended up taking the rest of Wednesday off, all of Thursday, and all of today. Sooo sad for her. The poor little thing. Am I relaxing you may ask? Boo. I am painting my kitchen and 1/2 bathroom. I am taking a break right now from "taping off". Seriously, is there not an easier way people?!
I feel very thankful that I haven't gotten sick with flu this year. To be honest, I am surprised. Suctioning out boogers from little children and testing them, I consider myself a pro now.
On another side note, I am going to put up my fall decor this weekend. SWEET!
