For New Years Eve both James and I worked until around 1 or so. We then got ready and headed up to Logan to hang out with his brother Jeremy and wife Jamiel. We went to Hamilton's for dinner (I had never been there and it was quite tasty!) and then went back to Jeremy's house to watch State of Play (very good show). James had helped Jeremy build his theater screen (120 inch... oooh yes) and so it was like going to an actual movie!
After the movie we raced back home (well the canyon was bad so raced = 40 mph give or take) and rang in the New Year watching the ball drop and drinking sparkling cider! I didn't take any pictures of the whole night though :(
We had planned to go to visit my Grandpa Haderlie in Wyoming the next day, however the weather was terrible and we were afraid to risk the drive (Manual Honda Civic and snow... trouble) I was pretty bummed, I'm hoping maybe for President's Day?
Me and my siblings Heather and Tyson went to "Have you heard about the Morgans?" last night at the Walker. Loved it! There were random parts where me and Heather would burst out laughing and then felt awkward when no one else was laughing... Don't you hate that?!
I still haven't taken down my Christmas decor yet... it's bitter sweet. I promise that I will take it down next weekend. Promise.
I am really optimistic about 2010 and am setting some goals for myself as many of us do. I am going to stick with them... I hope :)
1.) Continue Couponing (We got into this a few months ago. I have listed some sites to visit on my blog page that are amazing. They take all the work out of it- giving you links to print off the coupons, telling you what coupons to use and where to use them. I save around $5 each grocery visit. Utah Deal Diva is probably my favorite coupons site. James and I sit down together and clip the coupons and then figure out what we need for the week... it's kind of fun ha!)
2.) Save $. We do a pretty good job of this, but this goal is more for me. Sometimes I don't "stick" to the budget EXACTLY... so I want to try and be better about this.
3.) Lose Weight. This is the traditional goal I'm sure all of us have (well not everyone but). I've gained weight since I've been married (Ughh) and haven't really done much about it. I am the type that makes excuses or rationalizes things- or finds a million other things to do instead and say I don't have time... I have a treadmill and I just need to get on the thing! So, this will be my goal: To work out at least 3 times per week. PS I found this neat web site called Sparkpeople.com It is free and it helps you track your weight loss. It has a list of almost every type of food you can imagine... you can put in what you've eaten for the day and it figures our how many calories etc. and tells you how much you need to work out to loose your goal weight by a certain day. Pretty cool if I do say so myself.
4.) Keep doing well in school- I am starting my Nursing Core in the fall and am excited.
5.) Go on a Vacation- Even if it is only camping this summer, I want to go on a vacation!
I think this is pretty much it...
Also, I am going to get my hair done on Tuesday by cute Shannon. I am in the need of something new as far as a cut. I have been growing it out... but it is taking a very long time. It is also more on the fine side and is starting to get weighed down. I am thinking about these: (Please ignore Kimberly Caldwell's ahem... outfit. )

I like the idea of having it quite a bit longer in the front and then shorter in the back for body. Is it weird to have the one side shorter though? Seriously, if I will look like a freak please say so.
Well, I should probably go clean my house (sigh). Hope you all had a fun and safe New Year!
Good bye decorations....
Love,
Shandi

hahaha i love reading your blog because it sounds exactly like you..."if i will look like a freak..please tell me" haha. NO i think it would be hot! DO IT!
GREAT resolutions! Especially the vacation one...that one sounds like it would actually be FUN to accomplish! And I love both of your haircut options. I have secretly wanted the Rihanna cut for a couple years now...I just don't think I could pull off the short look without looking too mom-ish and boring. haha! You would look super cute with either one!
