Patio Chairs!

It's been a while since I have updated our blog, but I thought it might be fun to share a tiny project I did a little while ago!

We sold our patio swing on KSL (we never really used it as much as we thought we would) and
I wanted to have a couple of patio chairs, so I ventured off to Wal-Mart because let's face it... they do have the lowest price on things like this.

I found two cute chairs there for around $15 a piece. They had red, blue, and white to chose from, I chose white. (I'm sure you could search on KSL though and find some for much cheaper).

They had some chair cushions in the lawn/garden area but they were expensive! My chairs needed something though... some type of flare.

So I threw the chairs in my cart and wandered over to the dining area. There they had some chair pads for $7 a piece. The colors weren't exactly what I was wanting for my chairs, but for $7 I wasn't complaining.... Then an idea came.

Recover the chair pads duh!

So here is what I did. I think they turned out pretty cute, but this is a biased opinion :)

Chair Pad- I found this in the dining area for $7 but I'm sure you could find some at Ross for cheaper or maybe even KSL.

Outdoor Fabric- I found this at Wal-Mart and I really liked it. I think it was $5.50/yd and I only needed around 3/4 (?) of a yard for 2 cushions.

Ribbon in your choice of color- I found this at Wal-Mart for $1.50 a roll?

Step 1 - I laid my cushion inside of the fabric and folded the two sides over like so.... It would be a much better idea I'm sure to SEW these, but in spite of time and me not really thinking we would keep these forever, I HOT GLUED mine. Yes, hot glue!

Step 2 - Hot glue the two sides onto the chair cushion.

Step 3 - Take the bottom corners and fold them over in the shape of a triangle (like wrapping a present) Hot glue to fabric/chair cushion.

Step 4 - Fold the bottom edges upward and hot glue to fabric/chair cushion.

Your cushion should look like this now. I wasn't worried about the bottom of mine because no one is going to see it.
Other side of cushion - This is what it should look like.

Step 5 - Take your cushion and set it on your chair. Lay your ribbon across to see how much you need to cut off.

I am measuring how much I want to tie it in a bow.

Step 6 - After you have decided how much you want, cut it off and start hot gluing!

This is what it should look like.
Step 7 - Lay the cushion on your chair and tie that bad boy in a bow!

TA DA!!!!! Pretty simple, easy, fun, and cute. I was worried about how they would hold up in the rain and what not. But they have done great so far!
