a lot of changes...

My family is going through a lot of changes lately.

I truly believe that they are for the better for everyone involved, however it doesn't make them any easier. I am a person that has a really hard time with change, even when it is good.

To make a long story short, my mom and step-dad have decided to go their separate ways. They have been married for 11 years in October, and dated for quite a few years before that. It has been a really hard decision for them, but as I said before, I think it is for the best.

My mom has decided to move to St. George. She found a teaching position down there at a new High School called Desert Hills High. She has been teaching at BEHS for a long time, so it has been really hard for her to decide to leave. She graduated from there, my sister did, and my brother will be next year. It was because of her that I decided to switch High Schools my sophomore year and go to BEHS, which I can't imagine now not having done. I was able make so many close friends, be involved in Cheer, and participate in a lot of different clubs.

She was born and raised in Brigham City, the majority of her family is there, and my sister, me and my brother live up north. So as you can imagine, there have been a lot of tears. It just is the right decision and feels right to everyone.

My brother Tyson will be a Senior next year. He plays baseball and loves BEHS. He doesn't want to switch schools Senior year, which who would!? So my moms family has so graciously offered to let him stay with them.

I want my mom to be happy. She has devoted her life to taking care of us kids, providing everything she could. Now that we are getting older, I feel like she deserves to do what makes her happy, no matter what. We are really close, and so yes it has been really hard to imagine not having her super close in distance. No, it's not how I imagined, but is life ever really how we exactly imagine?

I think everything will sink in more after she moves, which will be in August.

Anyway, that is what is going on with us right now. Thanks to everyone for the support and text messages. Love you guys :)

Love,

Shandi
