It's that time of year and I can hardly believe it! My presents are wrapped and under my little tree, the smells of my Twisted Peppermint candles are filling the air... I've been baking and wrapping and baking some more.

Not much is new with us! I celebrated my 24th birthday (yes 24th) on the 2nd of this month and it was perfect. We went to Disneyland (yes for the 3rd time this year) and I LOVED it! Everyone needs to be able to go to Disneyland at Christmas time at least once in their lifetime. The castle was fab. I went to the Blue Bayou for my birthday dinner and ordered a big fat steak! We went on all of the fun rides and enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere.

On the 16th was our 5 year anniversary! We went to Timbermine and came home and snuggled. I love him.

These past few months have been crazy with school. I took a Pharmacology final last month and was DREADING it. The way the tests are broken down, is in "tiers". If you score a tier 1 it basically means "Um... you don't have a very good understanding of the material." Tier 2 means "Okay, you have a good understanding of the material." Tier 3 means "Why hello rockstar, you aced this." Let's just say I got a tier 3... yeah baby.

During this month of December I have been doing what's called a preceptorship at Primary Children's. Basically I work three 12 hour shifts/week and shadow/learn/be a slave from my assigned nurse. My nurse is fabulous and he helps me a ton. The days go by SO fast and I can only hope that I get the opportunity to work there one day!

I have a comprehensive final coming up (January 11th) and I have to get a Tier 2 status to pass! Ugh! No pressure.... psych. I have been trying to study for that like crazy but it's hard with the holiday's. After I pass that I am DONE and will be a real live nurse! On January 13th I have a "Pinning Ceremony" at Maddox. Our cap/gown ceremony isn't until May, and so the pinning ceremony will be a fun celebration. My grandma will be pinning me, since she is also a RN. After that I register to take my boards with the State and once I pass I will officially be a Registered Nurse! It's been a long journey but I am so glad that I chose to finish.

Other than that nothing is new! Our plan is to both work like crazy this next year, pay off my student loan, and get into a new house.

Hope you all have a great holiday!

Love,
Shandi
