We had a great Christmas! Probably one of the best in a long time. The day before Christmas Eve I did a 7-7 shift at Primary Children's, and my cousin Michelle invited James and I for a sleep over after I got off work! We headed down to Orem and met up at Texas Roadhouse for some yummy dinner and catching up. We went to their cute house and I colored her hair while James and Dave played XBox360 :) The next day we got up bright and early to head down to Brigham for our annual Larsen Family Christmas Party. We did the traditional gift exchange, ate lots of food, and caught up with the fam. We had the younger great grandkids put on the nativity and let me tell ya... it was a HOOT! Stephanie's little boy Aiden was my favorite by far. He kept saying: "I'm an Angel!" in his cute little voice. It cracks me up every time. From the gift exchange we got some fun gifts! James got a Megaplex giftcard for the movie with some candy and I got a Pyrex 13x9 with the carrying case thingey to keep it hot/cold.
After the party we headed up to my aunt/uncle's house (Cindi and Stephen) for some of Michelle's famous Cake Balls. They were fab... no words describe. Then it was time for me and James to head off to his fams. We had a lot of fun! All of his siblings (minus his sis who lives in Texas) came and ate homemade french fries and rootbeer floats (their tradition) and some soup and sandwiches. We exchanged gifts and had fun catching up!
After that it was around 8ish and we headed over to my moms! We have started a tradition as of last year to open our Christmas presents on Christmas Eve :) So.... that's what we did! (minus James and my presents at home). We all got SO spoiled! We ate some snacks and by that time it was pretty late so we headed home and went to bed. The next day we got to sleep in until 11 and came downstairs to open our presents. Santa found us and we got spoiled :) I am excited for when we will be able to help Santa our own kiddlies. I will love it. I am a die hard Christmas lover. I kind of get sad after all of the presents are opened. Weird, I know. I just love the decorating, baking, the music, the excitement. Needless to say I am dreading taking down my Christmas decorations :( Especially my tree. That needs to happen today though.
The rest of the week was spent finishing up my hours at Primary Children's (bittersweet) and trying to squeeze in as much family time as possible.
New Year's Eve James and I went to see Sherlock Holmes and to Applebee's. We came home and I worked on my newsletter for relief society (yes it was due the next day) and then snuggled and watched the ball drop! 2011 has been such a hard year and we can't wait to see what 2012 brings! It should be full of: graduation (for both of us), vacations, lots of family time (that was stolen from school!), saving like crazy for our house, and who knows what else!
Happy Holiday's!
